Short Blue Ice hike

With help of professional glacier guides, the right equipment and expert guidance, it is no witchcraft to explore the NIGARDSBREEN Glacier.

Some part of the route climbs quite steep up and down, which is made easier by steps in the ice. The participants should be reasonably sure-footed. For people without any hiking experience on mountain trails the trip can be exhausting. You will be roped up, and walk leisurely with crampons and ice axe along deep blue crevasses and high ice towers. Sometimes you can even crawl through some ice tunnels.

This hike is suitable for all who want to experience, during a short hike, what glacier hiking really is like.

The hike requires no prior knowledge in dealing with glacier equipment.

Parts of the route to the glacier and on the glacier itself climb quite steep up and down. The route is made easier by fixed ropes and steps in the ice. The participants should have a good balance and intermediate fitness to enjoy the tour. People without any hiking experience might be overwhelmed!

This is the same kind of Blue Ice Hike as the KIDS Special Hike, except the age limit is 12 years.

The exhibition at Breheimsenteret is included (does not apply to groups).
